Timeline Reflection
Every event in the timeline had in impact on the evolution of the Islamic religion. I think that there were two events that were more influential than the rest at having the biggest impact on the spread of Islam. Those two events are the first revelation Mohammad had and the second is Mohammad gaining rule of Arabia and converting all the citizens to follow Islam. The first revelation is important because this is was the original spark to the beliefs and ideals of the religion, the birth of it. Second the conquering of Arabia and the conversion of all of their citizens was vital to Islam, because this was the first major spread of the religion, making it have a greater amount of followers making it stronger, and due to Mohammad's death soon after the conversion for the citizens of Arabia this gave the religion a ton of followers who could continue to spread the religion even after Mohammad's death.

I agree with you that the most important events are Mohammad's first revolution and his conquering of Arabia. However, the most important in my opinion is the conquering of Arabia. Without this the Islamic population wouldn't be nearly as large as it is today. The islamic faith wouldn't have been able to expand the way it did without the support of the Arabian population.

ReplyDelete5(93) - I would have liked to see more thought put into how these events had an impact on the development of Islam - I feel as if you are just scratching the surface.
